Apparently the game was shown in MSX FAN magazine 1989/6 with one screen, then never released or heard of again, because of a fatal bug.

It's also shown in several MSX Magazine issues (starting with 1988-11), and the screenshots are from the article of MSX Magazine March 1989. In the 1989-12 issue they mention that Playball II will instead be released as Playball III.
