I am not sure, but I think that this is the older version of the much more known 1985-version. The differences are that in this version of Zaxxon you can choose the control device, choose one or two players and the difficulty level, features which are not present in the 1985-version. See the screenshots I uploaded.
Another difference is that the 1985-version has background music while this version, unfortunatly, only has some beeps and shreeking movement-sounds.
Furthermore, the graphics of the 1985, reprogrammed, version are much better in comparison with this version. For e.g. there are no background stars.
The Boss-monster is completely different too, much more like its arcade counterpart, in contrast to the 1985-version.
All in all, the 1985-version is superior, despite the lack of choices, to this one.
This version runs only in 'MSX1' mode.
